Rhys, what happened on the 13th? I have the Slytherin prefects snickering at me, making snide comments, about catching you doing...? What? They didn't tell me details; even at the prefect meeting, they seemed to enjoy knocking Ravenclaw down for something. So... what happened exactly? It must have been big or else Slytherins love to dramatize and gloat. I had the urge to punch them... but you know me, I don't do that usually unless Katherine gets me inebriated and we're hit on by slobbering drunk sailors at that tavern in Portsmouth.

I trust what I am about to say is something you will keep in confidence. If word spreads, the results may be detrimental to involved parties and I don't wish for that to happen.
You know the saying "when something looks too good to be true, it usually isn't"? Something about the internship Audrey was offered struck that chord in me, and I have good reason to believe that her talents will be exploited if she accepts the internship. And after speaking to Addison, my suspicions were confirmed. There is no use in speaking to him or attacking him in any manner; as he has said and which is quite true, he is not Aston Enterprises and has no control over what they do.
I don't think we should go to Audrey directly with my suspicions as that may aggravate the situation, and I want to spare her the truth of the "outside" world as it were for now. Do you think you will be able to help me? The only other option I have is to ask my father and grandfather to see if they have any strings they could pull to get another offer for Audrey from a competitor company, but I am afraid they may not have those connections. Do you think you could ask your father as well?

Kristopher wrote to say hello, and inform us that his internship is progressing smoothly at the Department of International Magical Cooperation. They also had a ball last month, and he said he wished I could have gone with him Katherine probably would have had fun picking apart the stuffed shirts that attended.

It still amazes me how many pumpkins I find hiding in the castle during rounds even when the holiday has been over for almost a week, although I am not nearly as surprised at the "gifts" left within them as I find the pranks and such rather ingenious inventions of those who hid them. The exploding snapdragon was a nice touch I must say.
How is everyone faring with their studies? Any ideas of what the First Task will entail? |
